Parents
Our mission: The Student Ministries of Faith Baptist Church exist to bring glory to God by winning people to Jesus Christ, equipping them to be more faithful disciples, and assisting parents in raising godly teens.
Philosophy of Ministry: We believe the teen years are designed to help students grow in the faith-journey, learn how to respectfuly and effectively relate and serve alongside adults, and begin to make a significant impact in their world for God’s glory. What we hope to produce in each teen’s life is listed on the“Key Characteristic's" page.

Newsletters: Each week the Journey (grades 6-8)and Impact (grades 9-12) ministries will make available a newsletter for you to get information on upcoming events and ministries. These are available on both the Journey & Impact pages.
Outline of Ministries (Offered to Students): Our Student Ministries are arranged in two sections, 6th-8th grade is called “Journey”, and 9th-12th grade is called “Impact”. We are helping the younger teens understand their faith-journey and grow in it. As senior high, we then seek to teach them how to impact their world for Christ.

Training for Parents: Our Faith Community Institute (FCI) - offers many valuable classes on Parenting Teens, Parenting, Marriage, and teaching teens on certain topics on Wednseday nights from 6:30-8 p.m. during the school year. Additionally, the preaching and teaching ministries of our church on Sunday mornings in the worship services and in the Adult Bible Fellowships[link] provide great help to parents raising teenagers.
Opportunities to contribute: We love for parents to get involved. We do require church membership and a background check for regular student ministry leaders. Community Service: We all make poor/wrong choices from time to time. We seek to provide quality, meaningful community service for those needing to fulfill legally mandated (CS) and who are willing to commit to learning how to work hard and serve at Faith Ministries.
- Initial meetings usally occur on Tuesdays from 4-5 p.m. with Andy Woodall in the front lobby of the Community Center. A parent or guardian is required at this initial meeting. You must make an appointment by calling or e-mailing the Mon. prior to the Tues. 4 p.m. mtg. (449-4600 or gbutterbrodt@fbclafayette.org) We prefer the one needing CS make the appointment.
- Provided the student and parent (or guardian) agree to outlined “CS Agreement” then the student may set up his/her hours to serve with Gage Butterbrodt @ Faith Communtiy Center (449-4600 or gbutterbrodt@fcmlafayette.org)
- Regulation of Hours: Those serving CS hours may serve up to 4 hours per day and 12 hours per week. This is designed, along with Court Services, to assist those doing community service to learn their lesson and hopefully develop more of a mentaility of giving to the community as opposed to taking from it. Regulating service hours helps shift from a mentility of instant gratification to a life of discipline. During the summer this regulation may vary.
- Hours available for CS:
- M-F (After school unit 10 p.m. – in up to four hour shifts.)
- Sun. (noon-6 p.m.)
- Sat. (8 a.m.-6 p.m.)
