Welcome to Jr/Sr High Art!
What we've been doing...
We began the year with a heavy emphasis on drawing. We will be reviewing the elements of art and the principles of design. This year it is my goal to help your children recognize several artist and know something about them. We will also introduce movements or styles of art and start building on this knowledge and history that surrounds it. We have been using a LCD projector to view some famous works and even the students' FABA work. It is a joy teaching your children.
FABA is the national competition of fine arts through the American Association of Christian Schools. That competition for us is March 19-20th for Sr high, and April 23-24th for Jr high. Please encourage your child to work ahead and not wait until January to begin.
FABA Changes: This year the senior high FABA is allowing two entries per category for the visual arts competition. We usually have many students who want to enter the same categories, so this year we will do a festival elemination to chose the two per category.

HOMEWORK: ONE SKETCH PER CHILD PER WEEK FROM LIST (DUE MONDAY AND TUESDAY) on as assigned basis.
I attended Herron School of Art in Indianapolis and I have continued my education with local artists. I love God, children and art so it is a wonderful blessing to be teaching here at Faith. You may contact me at talbaugh@fcslafayette.org for any questions or concerns.
